Fluxus Actions: Chance, Randomness, and Uncertainty
Thursday, April 5th 2018 - Wednesday, April 25th, 2018
Fluxus was an avant garde art movement that emerged in the late 1950s by a group of artists who had become disenchanted with the elitist attitude they perceived in the art world at the time. These artists looked to Futurists and Dadaists’ use of humor in art for inspiration. As an investigation into materials and mechanical chance processes, NCSU students, have created a variety of new works: performance, interactive sculpture, poetry, and puppetry, all in the spirit of Fluxus.
The exhibition runs from April 5th - 25th in the Craft Center Main Gallery, with an opening reception on April 5th from 5 to 7 pm.
